Ovarian cancer is deeply personal to me. Three years ago, at just 38 years old, my wife, Meredith, was diagnosed. Watching her endure treatment while continuing to show up every single day for our children and our family changed my entire perspective on life. Running with Tell Every Amazing Lady® is my way of honoring her strength and supporting other families facing this disease. Because there is currently no reliable early-detection screening for ovarian cancer, raising awareness is a critical first step toward preventing future diagnoses and ultimately finding a cure. The blue-collar spirit of Philadelphia makes it the perfect place to complete my very first marathon. Philly is a city that has forged its identity through hard work, sacrifice, and resilience—the exact same qualities Meredith has shown throughout her fight and recovery. When the training miles get tough, I think of her unwavering resilience, and it pushes me forward. I love you, Meredith! I am thankful for you every day, and I’m honored to commit to this lifetime mission of supporting ovarian cancer patients and survivors. Donate to Alec’s run here.
